No matter how much it indexes your files, Windows, with its search capabilities, is not the best at finding your files. One of the most effective ways of locating files involves using tags. SetTags lets you add tags to your files, to make them easier to find, regardless of where you store them. Even if you dump all your data in a cloud folder, you will be able to find everything related to a certain project, co-worker or anything else, by simply searching for the appropriate tag.

SetTags is free to try, without any functionality limitations. It comes in a small package, and you can have it up and running in under a minute, on any modern Windows platform. You don't need powerful hardware to run it, and you don't have to install any prerequisite tools or services.

The software's controls are pretty straightforward. You can import your files either by dragging and dropping them or through a standard browsing option, after which you may select one or more tags from a list and click a button to apply them. SetTags comes with a few default tags, which you can use to mark your documents by department, but you can also add custom tags, along with descriptions.

Once your files are tagged, you can use various options, on the application's compact interface, to display tagged or untagged files, or filter the files with specific tags. SetTags works best if you aim it at a cloud folder, in which you and your co-workers share documents. Everyone can use this application to tag the files and find what they need at a moment's notice, instead of browsing endlessly through a thick layer of folders.

Trying to figure out what files go where and spending minutes trying to find it are things of the past when using SetTags.

Pros

The software is capable of tagging a large number of files. It provides you with various filters, to help you find your files quickly and easily.

Cons

You may have some annoying issues if you don't set the application to work with a cloud folder.
